Plymouth University, BSc (Hons) Computer and Information Security

Information security has become an essential consideration in the design, development and implementation of IT systems, with practical evidence clearly indicating a growing need for professionals with a holistic and multi-faceted skill set. This is further supported with an increasing range of legislation (e.g. in the 3 domains of corporate governance and data protection) mandating that organisations must deploy effective security. In order to ensure organisations can meet these, industry demand exists for well qualified and highly trained professionals. The purpose of this programme is to provide the comprehensive academic foundation required by security professionals in order to develop, implement and manage information security systems, and appreciate the wider non-technical issues of security, such as legislation, regulatory requirements, and ethical considerations.
