The programme will provide you with a broad understanding of the importance of cyber security, particularly how it is affecting businesses worldwide.  It will also provide you with knowledge of key legislation and standards in this industry, highlighting key social and ethical issues encountered when securing access to data. You will consider threats and risks to information security and the measures needed to protect data to ensure business continuity. Once you have completed the course you will be aware of fundamental concepts of computer hardware, software and data network design, how data is stored on a computer, network protocols and the range of techniques used to secure and protect data stored on computers and transmitted via networks. Finally, you will gain an appreciation of the various viewpoints about trends in technology and the future of this industry.
